Missions & Outreach

There are three things we embrace at Valley Friends Church:

  • Great Commission
  • Finding and training people that will help support the Great Commission
  • Sending out people that will accomplish the Great Commission

First, we embrace the Great Commission. Matthew 28:19-20 – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in a the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

At Valley Friends Church we embrace the great commission by tithing and providing our resources of time and energy. We want to do our part to fulfill the Great Commission. Ten percent of our budget goes towards supporting missions in different capacities.

We support Evangelical Friends Church Southwest who supports missionaries and church planting. Additionally, Valley Friends Church supports Evangelical Friends Mission who aids missionaries and church planting.

Second, we feel it is important for every church to find those who are gifted and called to missions. Ephesians 4:12-13 – “To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

We want to support the theology that man needs to be saved and taught about God. This includes training and supporting.

Third, we want to release them to do the work God has called them to do. Mark 9:14 – “I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.”

We want to minister to the totality of human need. As we hear and see God at work in so many different places. We aim to “Reach all the nations starting with Jerusalem, Samaria, Judea and all the ends of the earth.”

The Compassion Ministry at Valley Friends Church is focused on ministering to the prayer needs and crisis needs in our congregation and servant community. Through this ministry we communicate and organize the processes to connect people willing to give time, ability, and resources to those in need.

If you have a heart for helping people, and the ability to organize and follow-up with individual needs in our congregation, this ministry is for you. For more information as to how you can serve in our Compassion Ministries or if you need assistance, please contact Valley Friends Church today.
